Safeguarding & Crisis Support
What to do in an emergency and how safeguarding concerns are handled.
1. Not an emergency service
Private Therapy Network is not monitored as an emergency, crisis or urgent mental health service. Do not use this website if you or someone else needs immediate help.
2. Immediate danger
If someone is in immediate danger, call 999 now or go to your nearest A&E department.
3. Urgent health advice
If you need urgent medical or mental health advice but it is not a 999 emergency, contact NHS 111 or your GP out-of-hours service.
4. Emotional crisis support
You can call Samaritans free on 116 123 in the UK and Ireland. Other local crisis lines may also be available.
5. Safeguarding disclosures
If information submitted through the site suggests a serious risk of harm to a child, vulnerable adult, you or another person, we may take proportionate steps. This may include contacting you, restricting use of the platform, notifying a professional, or sharing information with appropriate authorities where lawful and necessary.
6. Professional duties
Professionals using the platform are responsible for their own safeguarding, clinical assessment, risk management, record keeping and reporting duties.
